Richard Holmes CBE, TD, is Professor of Military and Security Studies at Cranfield University and the Royal Military College of Science in the UK. He presented the popular BBC television series 'War Walks' and 'The Western Front'. His publications include The Second World War in Photographs (2000), The Western Front (1999), and War Walks (1996). A reserve infantry officer for over 30 years, his last military appointment was as Director of Reserve Forces and Cadets in MOD.
